The ipod radio is a convenient way to obtain the enjoyment of listening to your favorite radio stations, enjoying all the great things radio can provide, all while using a small, convenient iPod. This new development for selecting radio stations came to the retail market in early 2007. Using the scroll wheel, tuning into the desired station is quick and convenient. The stations are tuned in with the use of a transmitter or ipod radio remote, which allows transmission of the radio waves into the iPod. All the stations are accessible in most locations. The controls are all in the hand of the user. The screen of the iPod is an easy way to view the station call numbers to achieve the desired sounds. The system referred to as the Radio Data System, or RDS, helps to display the song and station choice clearly. The information about the song and station will appear on the screen and is easily changed or tuned in with a touch of the scroll wheel. The user selects the icon radio from the iPod menu to start enjoying music. The iPod remote is compatible with the iPod Nano and all the most recent choices of fifth generation iPod styles.

IPod Car Adapters

Filed under: Features, Accessories - 11 Jul 2007

For those music lovers that travel a lot, an iPod car adapter is a must to keep the music playing without running your batteries down. The car adapter is a simple cable connection that allows the iPod to be connected to your existing car stereo system to provide your iPod high-quality music through your car stereo speakers. In addition, the cable will provide a connection between your radio or stereo controls and your iPod, meaning that you can use your stereo to control the iPod features, just like you would if a CD were being played. The stereo can be used to control volume, next track, previous track or fast forward and reverse. For those people that have the stereo controls on the steering wheel for easy access, the adapter will allow those controls to have full function with the iPod device through the connection.

The system works simply by plugging one end of the connecting cable, which is a full 3.5 meters long, into the jack on the iPod nano, 3rd or 4th generation iPod, iPod MP3 players as well as the new Apple iPhone. The other end of the cable, which is flat in shape and resembles a large USB port, will plug directly into the CD changer port that is usually located in the back of the car stereo system.

Apple iPod Video Cases

Apple iPod video cases are the ideal accessory to keep your iPod video in tip-top condition without scratches, marks or blemishes. Even though the outside shell of the iPod video is designed to be durable and strong, there are still objects and items that can scratch the paint or even etch into the aluminum case of the iPod. The screen and display area of the iPod is also easily damaged, so a case provides the best possible protection while still allowing easy viewing of the display.

FlipSkin Rubberized Case
For those iPod video owners that travel, one of the best of the Apple iPod video cases may be the FlipSkin rubberized case. This handy case not only provides waterproofing, as well as stain and scratch resistance, to the iPod but it also has an easy-to-use stand that turns your hand-held iPod video into a stand-up device with a simple flick of the stand. The kickstand-type styling allows the user to position the iPod video at just the correct angle, no matter what level or type of surface you are positioning it on. The stand folds flat against the back of the case when not in use to maintain the sleek and slim dimensions of the iPod video.

To use the Apple iPod video cases, including the FlipSkin case, all that is required is to insert the iPod through the screen cut out, then stretch the rubberized skin around the top corners to fit snuggly. After the outer skin is correctly positioned, simply slide the clear plastic screen protector into the screen opening and get ready to enjoy your protected iPod video.

Other Cases

There are many different styles and colors of Apple iPod video cases, including transparent, solid-colored, patterned and designed cases. In addition, some of the skins act as protectors as well, although they are not as durable as the more solid cases. Cases will come with a belt clip that allows the user to attach the iPod securely to a belt or backpack strap.

In addition, all cases allow easy access to the control wheel of the iPod video, which saves the listener from having to remove the iPod video from the case to change the display, song, video or volume. Headphone jacks are also easily accessible through the case to give the user maximum freedom when using a case either on the go or at a desk or in a dock or stand.

The wide variety of cases available for the Apple iPod video makes it a durable and practical accessory that will help keep the device looking new. In addition, Apple iPod video cases can be used to coordinate your iPod with your wardrobe, or even make it totally unique to you.

Apple iPod Speakers

Filed under: Features, Accessories - 07 May 2007

When it comes to accessories, one of the first items that most people consider are Apple iPod speakers. Many consider the sound quality of the iPod systems to be superior to many home stereo systems, plus the convenience of pre-set play lists makes the system perfect for playing music for romantic evenings, easy listening, or dancing the night away. Before the development of the speaker systems by Apple, there really was no way to share music between people, especially in a large area or space. The new Apple iPod Hi-Fi speakers have certainly solved that problem, providing excellent sound volume, quality and clarity to rival much larger home entertainment and sound system speakers.

The Apple iPod speakers in the Hi-Fi series have both optical and analogue inputs, although they are not equipped to be hooked to a television for slide shows or video viewing. Many Apple fans are hoping that the next version of the speakers will be so equipped. In addition, the speakers have horizontally set drivers, similar to a home theatre system, for truly amazing sound quality from small, very portable speakers.

Construction

In this small, dock-like, Apple iPod speaker there are two mid-range drivers and a dual voice coil woofer for deep base and clear sound quality at all volumes. The exterior is white resin with a removable front speaker grille that is deep black in color. The speaker grille can be taken off to add clarity and even a bit more volume to the output. The speaker box weighs about 14.5 pounds without the batteries, or 16.7 pounds with the six D-sized batteries needed to provide adequate power. The optional battery power is an added plus for taking the system outside or setting up the speaker without having to run extension cords all around a room or space.

The Apple iPod speaker can be easily carried with the two molded handles for easy transportation. The speakers can be controlled with manual controls on the front of the speaker for volume, but can also be adjusted with the use of the remote. The remote for the speaker does not control the iPod device or computer providing the sound. Some of the newer generations of iPods with upgraded Firmware will provide additional options, including album covers displayed on the screen in conjunction with the song.

The Apple iPod Hi-Fi speaker is a great way to change your iPod from a personal music player into a music system for the whole house or office. The speakers are very easy to hook up and with the option of either direct or battery power they can be used almost everywhere. Apple iPod speakers are available in most retail stores and online.

Apple iPod Shuffle

Filed under: Features, Types - 19 Apr 2007

For those music lovers that enjoy listening to their songs wherever they go without having to spend a fortune or carry about heavy or awkward MP3 players, the Apple iPod shuffle is just the player for you. This very small, highly durable player is great to clip on a label, in your pocket, or even within its own armband to keep it safe and easily accessible. The lightweight styling means that the iPod shuffle won’t pull down your clothing and will ride easily on any article of clothing that you simply clip it too.

Although the Apple iPod shuffle is one of the smallest of the iPod players, only measuring 1.62 inches long and weighing just half an ounce, this amazingly small device can hold up to 240 songs and will play about twelve hours with a single battery charge. This makes it perfect for commuters, exercise enthusiasts or even those that just like to lounge around the house listening to their favorite music.

The colors that the Apple iPod shuffle is available in include orange, green, blue, pink and silver. The case is very metallic and shiny, making this a colorful accessory and a symbol of a true music lover. The aluminium case is very durable so it is an ideal MP3 player for students and individuals that will use the iPod on a daily basis.

The Shuffle

One of the most unique features of the Apple iPod shuffle is the unique and random song play lists that the player will automatically generate. All that is required is for the user to load up to 240 of his or her favorite songs into the iPod shuffle via their computer. Downloading iTunes is easy with any type of computer from any internet accessible station with a simple cable. Once the desired songs are downloaded, they will be saved to the 1GB memory contained in the small iPod shuffle.

There is also the option to allow iTunes to auto fill your shuffle, giving you a new listening mix and experience every time you download. Once the songs are loaded all you have to do is start playing your shuffle and enjoying the music. The system will shuffle the songs, giving a new order with just a touch of the controls. The biggest selling features of the shuffle are the lightweight and easy clip-on device and the ability to keep play lists fresh and interesting rather than predictable and boring.

The Apple iPod shuffle is considerably lower-priced than many of the other iPod devices, and although it does not have the capability to show videos or photos, it is a great MP3 player with the same high quality sound as other Apple iPod products. An Apple iPod shuffle is a great starter MP3 player for someone that is just new to the technology.
