iPod Radio

The ipod radio is a convenient way to obtain the enjoyment of listening to your favorite radio stations, enjoying all the great things radio can provide, all while using a small, convenient iPod. This new development for selecting radio stations came to the retail market in early 2007. Using the scroll wheel, tuning into the desired station is quick and convenient. The stations are tuned in with the use of a transmitter or ipod radio remote, which allows transmission of the radio waves into the iPod. All the stations are accessible in most locations. The controls are all in the hand of the user. The screen of the iPod is an easy way to view the station call numbers to achieve the desired sounds. The system referred to as the Radio Data System, or RDS, helps to display the song and station choice clearly. The information about the song and station will appear on the screen and is easily changed or tuned in with a touch of the scroll wheel. The user selects the icon radio from the iPod menu to start enjoying music. The iPod remote is compatible with the iPod Nano and all the most recent choices of fifth generation iPod styles.

The iPod radio is finding itself included in many car manufacturers’ designs. The iPod has because the sought after choice of music lovers. Car companies such as Honda, Chrysler, BMW, Jaguar, Mini Cooper, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Saturn and Mercedes Benz, to name but a few, have added an alternative to a docking station for the driver’s iPod to incorporate the use of the iPod in a vehicle of the driver’s choice. This docking system is usually an option available with the purchase of a newer vehicle. The docking station can be added to the existing radio through an installment at most car dealerships. The iPod can then be controlled through the car’s stereo for convenience and enjoyment of the occupants of the vehicle.

Since the release of the iPod, there has been a controversy over the iPod versus the radio. There was talk that radio could become a less used choice as the iPod had created the option of generating a play list comprised of the user’s personal favorites. The musical enjoyment and pleasure of using an iPod seemed to outweigh the thought of the preexisting basic radio, which had always previously taken first prize in the selection of vehicle enjoyment equipment options.

The iPod radio is an innovative development allowing the iPod user the options of selecting personal downloaded material or to give the option of current radio entertainment and with this new idea of combining the two, of the radio being reached through the iPod, it is like combining the best of both worlds.
